The limited measurement field is in some cases not adequate enough to assess surface properties, such as shape, roughness and waviness. The µsoft automation software can seamlessly combine neighboring measurement fields into an overall measurement so as to expand the measurement area. This technique is known as stitching.

Operation could not be easier: After ascertaining the total measurement area in the measurement assistant, the sensor automatically moves to the position of the respective overlapping measurement fields and these are subsequently combined together.
To avoid exceeding the vertical measuring range on wavy or curved samples, an autofocus search is initiated prior to each measurement.
